   Every little bit of metal looks to have been picked clean from this scene. Spikes, tie plates, rail bars, bolts, even the wire off the phone poles all appears to be missing, curious that the cross arm stays and insulators were over looked by the scrapers.

     Well, there was a war on. That’s the reason the S&NY was torn up. Scrap value exceeded revenue by a wide margin.
